The forests are empty. The parks are ours for the taking. Let’s get out there and enjoy them in their glorious peace and quiet!
My hike this morning takes me to a waterfall close to my heart. It is so lovely that I almost trip over my feet scrambling through the grass to reach it.
The tree’s trunk is large enough that 2 people cannot get their arms around it. Secondary branches are thicker than many of the small trees planted in the garden.
The creek enters through colorful foliage, spilling and plunging into several pools. The soothing rhythms, fresh air and colorful surroundings make a perfect place to lose track of time.
The air is still, save a few gentle breezes that rustle the glowing leaves on their branches.
A simple mixture of nuts, fruits, sweets and crunchy cereals gives pleasure, energy and a great treat to enjoy at the top of a mountain. It is portable and delicious. Trail mix by itself can lure me outside. It is without exaggeration a miracle in a zipper bag.
